Presenters

Instructor Andrea Dassopoulos

The Research Director for the Oregon Gambling Research Center. Andrea leads the Center's research agenda, develops partnerships with researchers and community organizations, and oversees projects that address emerging gambling issues across the state. Her work helps ensure that research findings are translated into practical strategies that support prevention, treatment, awareness and public policy.

Instructor Cassandra Grinstead

A clinical psychology graduate student at Oregon State University. Grinstead's research focuses on behavioral addictions, specifically internet gaming disorder and gambling disorder. She works with Dr. David Kerr in the Youth Adjustment Lab. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 2020 with dual degrees in Psychological Science and Japanese. After graduating, she served as a Research Coordinator in the IMPACT Lab at Washington State University, investigating addiction from a prevention science perspective.

Tazio Marotta

A 2026 graduate of Gonzaga University, Tazio spent half of his undergraduate career working in Gonzaga’s Office of Health Promotion, where he developed an interest in public health and the research that informs preventive interventions. In the high-energy atmosphere surrounding sporting events on campus, he noticed the persistent presence of gambling, which motivated him to explore preventive research on gambling among undergraduate students. Given his close connection to the undergraduate community and the growing role of technology in students’ daily lives, research on technology-based prevention programs emerged as a particularly relevant area of interest.
