This webinar explores the role of money in problem gambling. More specifically, participants will learn how to identify and screen for a gambling disorder, how to practice "financial triage" and help patients put a pause on disordered gambling, how to understand and address underlying cognitions, beliefs, and fantasies that contribute to disordered gambling and resources for client referral and further clinical training.

Presenter

Instructor Mark Douglass

Mark Douglass, LPC, CADC III, CGAC II is Clinical Services Manager for Kaiser Permanente's Brookside Residential Addiction Medicine program, a 20-bed detoxification and residential substance use treatment facility at Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas County. He is also an adjunct instructor in Addiction Studies at the Lewis and Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling. Mark has prior experience as a gambling disorder therapist with LifeWorks Northwest and as an instructor in the state pre-certification training program. He lives in Portland with his partner Betsy Branch.
